Things I learned from the men in my life

I have a lot of guy friends. I learned a lot from them about men and about me. Today’s post is about what I learned about men from men.

Guys think what I do is hot. I heard from an old friend last week. As we were getting caught up, he asked if I still had my day job. I told him I was working from home now. When he asked what I was doing I smiled and said that I write trashy books. He laughed and recalled I told him that before, and then the conversation got very interesting. He’s a nice guy but one thing he taught me is….

Nice guys can be bad, bad boys. Oh yes. They might look harmless and treat me like a queen in public, but in private…. One guy left me with bruises and the other one I nicknamed ‘caveman’. Austin Sinclair, from Tell Me You Want Me is an all out bad boy, but his best friend, Jack Wheeler from Secret Storm, is a nice guy with a naughty streak. I’ll explore this more with Alex and Will from my WIP. They both appear to be good upstanding (I like that word) men, but they share a secret kink. And that reminds me of this lesson….

Men are motivated by sex, food, and sports. But so am I. In my experience this is usually true, and that’s why I have so many guy friends. I love nothing better than kicking back with some junk food, having a beer and watching football with….

There’s an exception to every rule. I think I married the only guy on the planet who hates sports. He used to dread fall Sunday afternoons, but after 15 years of living with a die-hard Cheesehead, I finally turned him into a football fan. And that proved….

My wildest fantasies can come true. I love research. ;)

What have you learned from your opposite sex friends?

About ameliajamesauthor

Amelia James started reading steamy romance novels in junior high, but her mom took them away from her, so she started daydreaming instead. After she got married, she wrote some of her naughtier daydreams down and sent them to Playgirl magazine. Two of them got published. She kept daydreaming and writing stories until her dirty stories turned into trashy books. She lives in Colorado, but she’ll always be a loyal Wisconsin Cheesehead. When she’s not lusting after her next bad boy hero, she looks for inspiration in sci-fi and action movies, football players, bloodsucking lawyers, muscle cars, and kick-butt chicks.
